Violence As technology advances and the number of people playing games increases, the range and number of different games increases also. This opens up for more controversy in games. The biggest controversial point in gaming is the violence used in games such as Grand Theft Auto. Some people see violence in games moraly wrong and feel like that are too many children playing games now to include the amount of violence that games like GTA do in their games.
Rating - PEGI
PEGI is an age rating system which was established to help Europeans make informed choices on which video games they want to buy. PEGI is highly promoted within most video games companies including console manufacturers such as Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.
Eductation
Video game can be very educational and can actually teach all children things such as numeracy, literacy aswell as morales. Some of the things that video games can teach can be negative but video games companies don't usually promote games which are giving negative education.
Stereotyping
The video games industry is mainly targeted towards men, opposed to women. Some people see this as stereotyping females as 'non-video games players'. Whereas a large amount of the female population do play video games and enjoy them as much as men.
Addiction
A high amount of video games players are considered to be addicted to the games they play as they play hours on end of a certain game. Some believe this can have a negative effect on alot of the population due to people becoming dependent on video games.
